The RJFC Codes of Conduct
Coaches Code of Conduct
All coaches to have signed the AFL Coaches code of conduct and to adhere to its mission statement.
All coaches must have a minimum current Level One coaching Accreditation. New coaches must complete this in their first year of coaching.
All Coaches to abide by all directives in the RJFC Code of Conduct.
As Coach you must set the example for your players. No Swearing, No abuse of the Umpire or opposition players. Your actions have a huge impact on your players.
Any Coach that does not abide by the Clubs Code of Conduct or behaves in any manner that brings the Research Junior Football Club into disrepute may be suspended or de-registered by the Committee of the Research Junior Football Club.

Players Code of Conduct
PLAY BY THE RULES: The rules of the club and the laws of the game.
Never argue with an umpire or any other official-without these people you can’t play footy.
Control your temper-verbal abuse of officials and sledging other players doesn’t help you enjoy or win games.
Be a team player-it’s a team game, treat it that way.
Treat all players like you would like to be treated-fairly.
Co-Operate with your Coach, the umpires and your team-mates.
Play for your own enjoyment and improve your skills.
Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability – you’ll let down your Coach, team-mates and family if you do and many such comments are illegal.
Any player that brings the Research Junior Football Club into disrepute or does not abide by the Clubs Code of Conduct will be required to attend a meeting with The Research Junior Football Club Executive Committee. If found guilty penalties may be imposed which range from a warning to suspension or immediate de-registration. If the player fails to attend the meeting he will be immediately suspended or de-registered until he appears.

Parents & Supporters Code of Conduct
Remember that you are there for the participants of the game.
Encourage participation but don’t force it.
Teach that enjoyment is more important than winning.
Never ridicule mistakes or losses. Supporters are there to encourage not discourage.
We greatly appreciate your help but remember that you are representing the Club and your actions reflect good or bad on the club.
Lead by example and respect all players , Coaches ,Umpires and spectators. Physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
Recognize all volunteers who are giving up their time to help nurture the players.
Never publicly criticize umpires, raise personal concerns with club officials in private.
Don’t use ugly remarks based on race, religion, gender or ability-you’ll let your family and yourself down if you do & many such comments are actually now illegal.
Any parent or supporter who does not abide by the Clubs Code of Conduct or through their actions brings the club into disrepute will be required to attend a meeting with the Research Junior Football Club Executive Committee and penalties ranging from warnings to suspension from attending matches or social functions and/or de-registration of nay family members playing for the club.
If a parent or supporter does not attend the above meeting the Research Junior Football Club will immediately suspend the person from attending matches or functions and/or suspend or de-register any family member from the club unless exceptional circumstances exist.

Team Selection Policy & Guidelines
All coaches must accept a minimum of 24 players in his team.
Coaches can accept extra players after consultation with the Research Junior Football club Executive Committee. Where a team has more than 24 players, the Coach of the team must select a minimum of 24 players per match. (DVFL rules state from U13-Under 17 only 24 players can play in any match).
Coaches must accept players who have brothers in other age groups on the proviso that this is only one age group up.
Coaches must accept any players who have been playing above their age group back into their proper age group.
Previously registered players have preference over new players to the club.
The Northern Football League and the Research Junior Football Club Requires that all players must play a minimum of a half game as far as practicable.
Where two sides are formed in the same age group, the composition of the two teams will be selected after registration Day by the two Coaches to form two equal teams. The Executive Committee will oversee the selection of the teams and can over-rule selection where required.
Where two sides are formed in the same age group and a player wishes to move from one team to another the following procedure is to be adopted. The two Coaches must be consulted ; where a dispute arises the Executive Committee must be advised and will have the final ruling.
All players must be registered in their own age group.
All players must play in their age groups except in exceptional circumstances. (e.g. Insufficient numbers in the older age group)
To enable an even balance of players in all teams. (Coaches agree that development of a player would be enhanced by playing in an older age group and the player is capable of playing at that level.
Any player who receives a knock to the head which results in the player becoming unconscious or suffer concussion during any match will not play the following game.
